This blog has been specially requested by Paul but could be useful to Mark and to Marlene.
I have battled with severe migraines and backache for years and there is only one cure-you must find out and understand who you are.The way to do this is to check your reaction to every thought and feeling for a week.Take the word 'should' and the word 'ought' out of every thought and feeling.The result is the answer to who you are. There are things you won't like about your innermost feelings and reactions ie about your real self. The difference between what you ought to be and what you are is the cause of headaches and backaches.You have to accept who you are and try to like yourself with all the shaming reactions and feelings.
Some of the 'self-improvement' gurus tell you to repeat 'I love myself' often.This is a good idea but only after you have done the exercise outlined above.
All three experience sleep deprivation --- Paul because of his new baby, Marlene because like Mrs Thatcher, she only needs a few hours of sleep and wakes up at 2 am or 3 am every morning, fresh and ready to face the day.Needless to say Marlene is a Maggie Thatcher ie a high achiever, determined, assertive and focussed on the future,never looking back.
The difference is that Paul suffers from sleep deprivation while Marlene thrives on it. This is a big difference! Time, in the form of the baby growing out of nocturnal wakefulness will solve Paul's problem.It is not insomnia which is yet another nuisance.
Without being in the least bit cranky or making like a new age loony I must admit to feeling that chronic annoyances like backache and migraine are nagging reminders of deeds remaining undone in a past life that now need doing in this life. If you are lucky you hit upon the things you need to do,the person you had to find, the task that had to be completed.You feel calm and fulfilled and headaches and backaches recede. Otherwise Anadin Extra will have to do.
